Are we on a path of National Disintegration?

A taxi driver passing through a busy dadar street is clogged and been queried about his inhabitant. The moment he says I am from North India, he is dragged down, beaten and his taxi is dismantled.
People from UP, Bihar, MP are called bhaiyas and seen as not very well-cultured.
Why so many baseless charges against them? Have you ever seen any problem like this in any of the north Indian state? A lot of Bengalis, Marathi’s, south Indians live in north India, have they every felt such discrimination? Perhaps I can’t reminisce a single incidence of such type then why vica-versa is there.
I think we are fortunate as for past 50 years we have only seen riots due to community and caste differences but now we are on the threshold of seeing the same due to regional differences and that too in the heart of India...Mumbai.
Big question is why time and again these sorts of things take place? Answer lies in the heart of so called faithful politicians of this gigantic country. If we turn around the pages of history then we can figure it out that riots majorly take place due to irresponsible behavior and speeches of our politicians in order to achieve personal milestones. Be it 1948 when Hindu-Muslim riots broke out due to prime ministerial ambitions of two great leaders, 1984 anti-Sikh riots triggered by congress leaders, 2002 Godhra riots by Narendra Modi and latest what we see in Mumbai due to outspoken Thackrey brothers.
It’s not only that politicians are to be blamed, I think media should also be held equally responsible. Gone are the days when news were informative, now a days they are presented like a daily soap of Ekta kapoor whose ultimate aim is to be on top charts of TRP.
Last but not the least we the poignant Indian public also looses our control and get provoked very easily. The biggest dilemma lies with the mindset of people of this country, India is a nation of fickle minded mob and it can be incited very easily and our politicians often take advantage of this fact very intelligently. And once it is mobilized no constitution, government, army can bring it to a halt and by the time its stops a despicable history has already been produced.

Why Atal Behari Vajpayee Deserves the Bharat Ratna

If you go strictly by the Constitution, there is no place for titles in a republic like India. However, India is a strange blend of dynastic fascism and populism and so it does not really matter whether there are titles given by the state or not. Apart from the four varieties of ther padma awards, there is thye bharat ratna, jewel of India, as if MGR and Rajiv Gandhi are jewels of India by any stretch of the most putrid imgination. These two were given the award for political reasons. I can think of only two names that fully deserve to be called Bharat Ratna--P V Kane and Baba Sabeb Ambedkar. Indira Gandhi awarded herself the Bharat Ratna when she was in office and in many instances we find politicians interfering with the process.Hon'ble Lal Kishen Advani, the Leader of the Oppositions, in his capacity as a Leader wrote a polite and reasonable letter to the Prime Minister making out a case for Atalji. Instead of the PM replying to the leader of the Oppositions as required by protocol, Priyaranjan Das Munshi, a loud mouth of the Congress Party and the great Abishek Singvi, whose late father was in BJP and he keeps company with Sonia, were both let loose against Advani in a vulgar bid to rubbish the contribution of Atalji. I personally feel that men of such eminence like Atalo Behari Vajpeyee should not accept any award from a congress regime as it only demeans the stature they hold in the country at large. Why accept an award from a Government that is at the mercy of the so called left and can do nothing without the permission of Brinda and Prakash.Atalji has been in the Lok sabha since 1957 and in the election of 1984 alone he was defeated. He has been an exemplary public servant and a patriot who made India a Nuclear power and thereby strengthens the security of the country. He has been a symbol of public decency of a kind that this country needs. Who cares two hoots for the woman who proclaims Modi to be a "merchant of death" and makes other such indecent comments. Atalji political style is mild mannered and free of the shrill rhetoric of congressmen and the left. He has served the country 3 times as Prime Minister and with grace. I cannot think of any politician of independent India more deserving of a Bharat Ratna than he.Instead of dealing with the issue at hand, effort was made to kick up a lot a dust. Jyoti Basu's name was floated as a red herring until the left in a rare show of good sense put paid to that issue. Then the dalit queenbee, Mayawati, staked the claim for Kanshi Ram and the BSP under Mayawati is as rotten and corrupt as the SP regime under Amar Sing and Mulayam. In short there is no one more deserving than Atalji and I endorse Advani's claim.

Gavaskar not invited to present Gavaskar-Border Trophy

Ever since the Gavaskar-Border Tophy was constituted, it was always presented to the winning team by both Sunil Gavaskar and Alan Border. However, it did not happen this time. Since Gavaskar had taken on the Australians for labelling racism charges against Harbhajan and also cricitized umpires Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson and match referee Mike Procter on the Sydney test fiasco, the Cricket Australia made its displeasure public by not inviting to present the Gavaskar-Border trophy to Ricky Ponting at the presentation ceremony after Adelaide test.
